The Origin of SPA
Some 400 years ago, according to the Hellenic literature, some Hellenic physicians had acknowledged that hydrotherapy could rejuvenate one’s soul and mind.
A town located in Ardennes forest in Belgium was named SPA. The citizens of that town found that there were many natural springs with very low salinity, and good minerals. It was very beneficial not only as a drink but also as a very relaxing bubble bath. They even used the springs to cure aches and diseases. Since then, it has been known to be the cradle of modern Spa.
In summary, hydrotherapy was invented by a minister of Catholicism, named Sebastion Kneipp in the 19th century. He found that the efficacy was very well through using hot and cold hydrotherapy to stimulate body energy, accelerate blood circulation and suppress pressure. It has become today’s popular hydrotherapy.
